Where We’ve Been, What We Believe In, and Where We’re Going Next

Founded in 1974 by brothers Les and Ron Satz during the global oil crisis, Ronald Mark Associates (RMA) emerged to connect businesses suffering from resin shortages with reliable material suppliers. Since then, we’ve steadily evolved from a trading and PVC resin distribution operation into a multifaceted manufacturer of vinyl membranes, decorative surfaces, and technical textiles while staying true to our family-owned roots.

Key Milestones

• 1970s: Established RMA to resolve PVC resin supply disruptions; focus on trading and distribution.
• 1980s: Expanded into manufacturing vinyl membranes, leading to the creation of Flex Membrane International. John Doyle, now President of Flex, joined during this period.
• Mid-2000s: Introduced a wider extrusion coating line to produce roofing products and entered the geomembrane market (reinforced and unreinforced).
• Early 2000s: Launched Kinon decorative surfaces, spearheaded by Les’s son, Richard, to serve luxury surface and millwork markets.
• 2019: Formed E Squared, a technical textile supplier, in partnership with Erez Thermoplastics.
• 2022: A new manufacturing plant in Bluefield, VA, was opened to support ongoing growth and innovation.

Today, the next generation drives RMA’s vision. Michael Satz leads RMA as President, Richard heads Kinon, and Les’s daughter Lori supports HR and Finance. Our people-first approach remains the foundation of our success: we see customers, vendors, and team members as partners in a collaborative supply chain.
